The Pine Belt is an area rich in tradition yet always growing thanks to the abundant and state-of-the-art educational, cultural and medical communities in our midst. Hattiesburg has been named a certified retirement community and is 23rd in the national city ranking for home value growth in 2008!

 

 

The Pine Belt region of Mississippi includes the cities of Hattiesburg, Laurel, Petal, Ellisville, Collins, Columbia, and Purvis. Plus our smaller surrounding communities of Sumrall, Seminary, Oak Grove, and Richton.

We are home to Forrest General Hospital and Wesley Medical Center as well as the more than 200 physician strong Hattiesburg Clinic.

We are served by William Carey University, the University of Southern Mississippi, Jones Community College and Pearl River Community College.

We are at the hub of Interstate 59, Highway 49 and Highway 98 which leads to New Orleans, Mobile, the Mississippi Gulf Coast and within an hour and a half to our Capital City of Jackson, MS.
